Christmas in Medford

We headed south to Medford late afternoon on Christmas Eve.
Long drive but very very glad that we went!!!
Checked into the motel in White City at 7:30pm.
When we got to my parent's house, this is what we saw!
My dad, bless his heart, LOVES to decorate the house for Christmas.
Especially when family comes! I love him so much!!
Tom is just as special as dad is!! They are so alike in so many ways.
Good guys, the BEST!

On Christmas morning, the sun was out.
This is Mt. McGloughlin. Don't think I have ever noticed it
before. Pretty little snow covered mountain.

Love these beautiful red berries that are on the bushes

along the walkway to mom and dad's front door. Very Christmasy.
Must get some for our backyard.

What a gorgeously decorated tree!!

Mom always makes her traditional breakfast ring.
A sweet pastry with a raspberry filling topped with cream cheese frosting.
Very yummy!

Dad always makes the traditional Bloody Mary's for Christmas morning.

I LOVE this photo of my guys!

Mom is camera shy. Am glad that she went along with

a picture of the 2 of us.

Dad decided to keep Jim on as the "Pool Boy."

Jim was intrigued with getting those old leaves out

of the pool!!

Mom and dad go all out decorating the table for dinner.

We had ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, fruit salad, and

pumpkin pie.

Peaches the cat spent a lot of time sleeping under the tree.

Tom played Santa after dinner.

Santa is in 7th Heaven!!

"I love my ducks."

We had a very nice Christmas! Everyone was positive and cheery!

A very good time!!

AND THEN THE NEWS VIA TEXT MESSAGE FROM CHRISTINE!!

We were very surprised. Didn't see that one coming!

Her BF Mike, took her to Newport. They went onto the boat where they first met over a year ago. She was doing sampling fishing out on the ocean for ODFW. He was the deckhand on the boat. She had to go out on the boat many times.

They talked a lot. shared interests. pretty soon they were dating.

....On Christmas day, on that boat, Mike kneeled before her, slipped a ring on her finger and asked her to be his wife. Very nice!!! A good memory!

Well, we headed home after taking mom and dad to breakfast.

Tripcheck showed that the passes north of Grants Pass were covered in

snow and ice. gulp. going to breakfast and dawdling was a good idea.

We reached the passes and the snow was melted on the road. no problems.
Guess we did miss a 12 car pileup by just 10 minutes in Albany.

whew. thank you , Jim for stopping at so many rest stops~;)
