Spring Break, Pt. 2----Easter Weekend with Tom & Anna

We left on Thursday afternoon for Medford to see my parents.  We went to check on my mom who hasn't been feeling well for quite some time.  But, she will be ok.  Nothing terribly serious.  whew.
My sister and her husband came too.  We were all surprised to see Tom talking to my dad in their kitchen!  It was great medicine for my folks.

On Friday afternoon, we left with Tom for Gold Beach.  That meant back tracking to Grants Pass and taking the Redwood highway to Cresent City then up to Gold Beach.  Jim and I stopped at a couple of 2nd hand stores.  Found some little treasures!
We didn't know it til we were leaving that one was called "Anna's little shop of treasures."  lol.

This beautiful green river is the Smith River in northern California.  Flows to the Pacific at Crescent City.
So green!
a couple of redwood trees.

Cape Sabastian

Such a gorgeous day! So warm.  We walked barefoot and in short sleeves.

We were looking for sand dollars.  Jim found 51 for my kindergarteners.

Tom and his dogs, Tank and Asic

We were looking for glass balls that the city people hide for tourists. All we found was a lot of drift wood.

A boat coming out of the mouth of the Rogue River.

Father and son with daughter in law.
We visited a new microbrewery.  The owners are friends with Tom and Anna.  They have good beer, according to Jim.  I actually liked their "Gold Beach lager".  and I don't drink beer due to the hoppy bitter taste.  This did not have it.  They only do kegs at the moment and sell to restaurants on the southern Oregon coast.

Asic who is black lab and border collie

Tank who is black lab and I think, great dane.  he's a black Clifford or Marmaduke.

We colored eggs

They made a wonderful dinner.  Tom smoked the ham on the Traeger.  He also made the dessert.  Warm brownies topped with vanilla ice cream.    It was yummy.  They also introduced us to a game called Boggle.  So much fun!!
