My brother, whom we haven't seen since 1997, came down on the train from Bremerton, WA. He's kinda having a tough time having been laid off his job of 11 yrs at the shipyard.
Randy is the middle child. He is 2 yrs younger than I.
Jim's nephew joined us for dinner.
Since Edward lives next to the train station in PDX,
we picked him up when we got Randy. So we had 2 over night
guests.
Rosie was quite the little beggar!
I loved the time with my brother!!
It was just lovely!
Christine and Mike invited us to the beach on Friday.
We took them Turkey Day leftovers.
Randy got to hold his great-nephew, Richard.
Christine looks very well and lovely. She seems very content
and happy. The house was decorated for Christmas with lights and a tree. She even put lights on the deck railing! Nice touch, Chris!
The proud family! And they ARE!!
Mike fixed fresh halibut for dinner!
Gramps enjoyed holding his grandson!
He is proud too!
Don't pull that finger!!!!!
Boy! Can that little baby toot!! ;)
The ecstatic grandparents!!! Finally!
WE get to see/visit/hold the grandson!
Richard Clyde Calahan. (for the moment.)
the older neighbor lady suggested they name him
William. I rather like that!
"William Richard Clyde Calahan"
Kinda regal. Maybe call him Will!
The Ocean was MAGNIFICENT!!!!
Oh, those waves! Wow. I could have watched
the sea all day long! Such strength, power, and beauty.
So hypnotic!
As beautiful as the ocean was....
As wonderful as the visit with Randy was....
As terrific as the visit with Chris, Mike, and Richard was....
As nice as the visit with our niece from CA was....

Our loving thoughts were always focused on our dear friend and the
loss of her great father! Even at dinner on Thanksgiving, Jim included
them in our dinner prayer. Bless you, Jerry! Thank you for gracing the lives of so many. I am glad that we got to know you a bit better this year.
Thank you for raising such a fine daughter! You done good!
May you rest in the Peace of our Lord along side Mema and Big John.
amen.
